Cigar Snob Magazine's Cigar Marathon is an all-day cigar smoking event where "marathoners" are taken on a tour of multiple cigar stores and cigar friendly venues where they will participate in a cigar tasting challenge to win prizes. You'll be fed non-stop cigars, food, and drink throughout the day culminating in a grand raffle for prizes followed by a live performance by PALO! (www.gopalo.com)

The Marathon:

We will meet at PAX (Performing Arts Exchange) at 9-9:30, leave our cars in the PAX parking lot (we have permission to do so) and we will be taken via coach bus to 6 cigar stores and cigar friendly venues throughout the day. We will spend 90 minutes at each stop where we will enjoy cigars, drinks, and good times. The last stop of the day will be PAX where we will enjoy our final cigar of the day, drinks, a paella dinner, the grand prize giveaway, and a live show by PALO! 

The Challenge:

At every stop, each marathoner will receive an unbanded cigar from a particular manufacturer and after smoking it, must attempt to identify which brand from the manufacturers portfolio they received. At the end of the day, the marathoner with the most correct answers wins one box of each of the products sampled throughout the day, a value of over $1,000! 

The Kickoff Party:

In addition to the Marathon on October 8th, you are invited to a Kickoff Party on the eve of the Marathon (Oct 7th from 7PM - 10PM) at Waxy O'Connor's (690 SW 1st Ct, Miami, FL 33130, 786-871-7660, www.waxys.com/miami). You'll receive your event t-shirt, goodie bag, raffle tickets, and welcome gift at the Kickoff Party. You'll also enjoy your first complimentary cigar along with your fellow marathoners. Waxy's is providing appetizers for us along with a $100 bar tab up for raffle!! If you've never been you will love the location on the Miami River with plenty of room to smoke and rock out.

NOTE: If you can't make it to the Kickoff Party, your items will be held for you and given before commencement of the Marathon on October 8th.

Release of Liability and Agreement to Terms and Conditions

CIGAR SNOB MAGAZINE’S MIAMI CIGAR MARATHON OCTOBER 2011

Note: All CIGAR MARATHON attendees must agree to the terms of this waiver. Online registration signifies acceptance of these terms and conditions.

In consideration of the acceptance of the entry fee, and/or desire to be an attendee at CIGAR SNOB MAGAZINE’S MIAMI CIGAR MARATHON 2011 (October 2011) which takes place on a tour bus and in several cigar stores in Miami, Florida , hosted by Lockstock Publications, Inc. d/b/a CIGAR SNOB MAGAZINE, I hereby waive, release, and forever discharge any and all rights and claims for damages for death, personal injury, or property damage which I may incur, or which hereafter may accrue to me as a result of my participation. This release is intended to discharge in advance the promoters, the sponsors, the officials, the volunteers (and their respective agents and employees), from and against any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with my participation in said event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above.

I further understand that the event promoters have contracted bus transportation throughout the day and that it is possible for traffic  or other accidents to occur during the event which involve and are caused by anyone connected or not connected with the event, and that an entrant could conceivably be injured by a person or criminal action, other vehicle, or acts of nature like or any other injury-producing situation, and sustain mortal or serious personal injuries, and/or property damage, as consequence thereof. I understand that since the CIGAR MARATHON event will take place throughout various locations in Miami, Florida that transport is necessary for all participants on roads with traffic, and I understand that these may require extra precaution on my behalf.  I understand that this is a cigar smoking event and that I am of legal age of at least 18.  I further understand that alcoholic beverages will be provided by the promoters and the associated sponsors.  I acknowledge that I am over the legal drinking age of 21.  Knowing the risks of cigar smoking and drinking, nevertheless, I hereby agree to assume those risks and to release and hold harmless all of the persons or entities mentioned above who (through negligence or carelessness) might otherwise be liable to me (or my heirs or assigns) for damages. I hereby agree to abide by the laws in the state, counties and municipalities traversed for this event.  I understand that the promoters of this event and the owners and their employees of any of the cigar stores visited during the event have the right to eject me from the event should they determine in their sole discretion that I have become intoxicated, that I have become unruly, or that I have otherwise not abided by any laws or standards of good character. It is further understood and agreed that this waiver, release, and assumption of risk is to be binding on my heirs and assigns. I understand that photographic, electronic or other records of my participation in this event may be used in future promotional materials by the promoters, including in future publications of CIGAR SNOB magazine, on the Internet, brochures, advertising flyers, t-shirts, and other media without further compensation.

The event will take place rain or shine.  This ticket is NON-REFUNDABLE. 

This ticket is non-transferable and is not valid without purchase.  This ticket entitles one (1) person entrance to CIGAR SNOB MIAMI CIGAR MARATHON 2011.  Reproduction of this ticket is not permissible. 

Lockstock Publications, CIGAR SNOB MAGAZINE, the participating cigar stores, the hired transportation company, and the sponsors are not responsible for any personal items lost during the event.  

All goods and services provided during the event are provided “as is” and are provided without any express or implied warranties.
